Turning a city into something worth discovering.
Best of West Palm Beach was created around a simple proposition: bring the experiences that make a place interesting together under one recognizable identity.
Dining. Arts. Entertainment. Shopping. Culture. Local businesses. The people and places that give West Palm Beach its character.
The identity provides a platform for curating those experiences—and a visual voice capable of moving from editorial content to digital discovery and destination marketing.
A destination isn’t defined by a skyline alone. It’s the restaurant someone tells a friend they have to try. The gallery they discover unexpectedly. The neighborhood they spend an afternoon walking through. The concert, cocktail, shop or local business they remember after they leave.
Best of West Palm Beach creates a frame around those individual experiences.
The identity is intentionally editorial rather than institutional. Strong typography gives the brand authority, while the contrast of black, blue and vivid pink brings energy and personality to the system.
A place brand becomes more useful when it helps people answer the question that matters most: what should I do here?
The identity can naturally extend into a digital discovery platform organized around the experiences people actually look for—food, drinks, arts, events, shopping and places to explore. Rather than presenting the city as a list of attractions, the experience can function as an invitation to keep discovering what comes next.
Food is often one of the fastest ways to understand a place. Restaurants, bars and gathering spaces reveal neighborhoods, personalities and local culture in ways traditional destination messaging cannot.
An editorial system gives those experiences room to tell their own stories while keeping them connected to the larger Best of West Palm Beach identity. The result is more than a directory of places to eat—it’s an invitation to experience the city through them.
Great places give people a reason to visit. Great experiences give them a reason to come back.
A compelling destination identity has to leave room for more than landmarks. Art, music, food, events and local culture are what turn a geographic location into somewhere people feel connected to.
The Best of West Palm Beach visual system can move beyond editorial content and become part of those experiences—promoting events, highlighting cultural programming and creating a recognizable presence throughout the city.
People rarely discover a destination through a single channel. They might see an event on their phone, find a restaurant while searching online, encounter a story about a local artist, pick up a guide or simply notice something while walking through the city.
The strongest place brands connect those moments. A consistent identity allows Best of West Palm Beach to move between editorial, web, mobile and physical experiences without losing its voice.

Eventually, destination branding has to leave the screen. Banners, event graphics, public-facing installations, wayfinding and environmental applications can turn an identity into a visible part of the place it represents.
The objective isn’t to cover a city in logos. It’s to create recognizable moments that connect the physical experience of being there with the stories being told everywhere else.
The best of a place is the experience of it.
Best of West Palm Beach began as an earlier identity project centered on celebrating the dining, entertainment, culture and lifestyle of West Palm Beach.
For this case study, the original identity has been revisited and expanded into a contemporary destination-media system—exploring how the brand could live across editorial publishing, digital discovery, cultural programming and the physical city experience.
The result demonstrates something fundamental about place branding: a destination identity isn’t simply a logo for a location. It’s a framework for telling the stories that make people want to experience it.

The most interesting places already have stories. Restaurants are opening. Artists are creating. Businesses are building. Events are happening. Neighborhoods are changing. People are creating the culture every day.
The role of a destination brand is to bring those stories together—and give people a reason to discover them.
